| Daytona Beach 2006 Vacation |
| The View from our condo on Daytona Beach |
| July 4, 2006--We were thrilled to witness "History in the Making" when the shuttle Discovery was launched from Cape Canaveral, just 45 miles away of Daytona Beach! We literally stood in the ocean, in front of our condo, and watched with thousands of other people, the launch of the shuttle Discovery. The pictures are hard to make out, but it was truly an amazing, memorable event! We even heard the shuttle breaking the sound barrier several minutes after it was out of sight. It was so cool! It was the first time in history that the shuttle was launched on the 4th of July. After the shuttle was out of viewing sight, the crowd on the beach errupted into clapping & cheers! It was truly an awesome & extremely patriotic moment. Something we will probably never witness again! |
